~lining up for counting~ |
Camp Perry was so much fun! It was about 90-95 degrees and 95-100 percent humidity for the first two days I was there. The last three were about 75-85 degrees and about 80 percent humidity. On my first relay, it was fishtail (the hardest to shoot in) winds, about 7-10 MPH. I dropped 7 points, but my first and second sighters were misses. At first I put WAY to much to adjust for the wind, then I tried something else that didn't work either. That was at 1,000 yards =). My second relay, I shot in rain and about 10-20 MPH winds! Our relay was getting ready when the line officer said there was 10 minutes until the rain and about 20 until the downpour. They told us to get out stuff ready and that there was 2 minuted until "prep time" (getting into position, dry-firing). As soon as we started to shoot, it started to rain! It was so hard to see the target!!! I had to do a frame hold, which is opening up you front sight so the circle goes around the whole target, not just the black part. This was at 1,000 yards also. It was really hard to see the target, then I was shooting, and I missed a big pick up in the wind and I had a shot way out the right. I adjusted for it, but it picked more and I got a shot in the same spot! It was still fun though =).
