Saturday, I shot a service rifle (look in pic), it was so much fun! The Fantastic Ferndalians (Gabby, Natasha, Haley, Luke and I), shot slow fire offhand, rapid fire sitting, and rapid fire prone. It was my first time shooting a service rifle in a position other than prone. I really love shooting service rifle, and I'm going to shoot an across the course match on Sunday. In across the course, you shoot slow fire offhand at 200 yards, rapid fire sitting at 300 yards, rapid fire prone at 300 yards, and slow fire prone at 600 yards. It will be my first across the course match. I am really excited about shooting offhand slow fire, and sitting rapid fire. Offhand is my favorite position, I really like the challenge of holding the rifle steady, and breaking good shots. I can't wait until the match! I won't be shooting across the course very often though, because I am trying to keep my focus on long-range prone. Once in a while though, I'll shoot an across the course match, because it's fun, and very challenging.
